1.0 Chapter 1: Introduction 1.1 Introduction In this research it is attempted to explore the primary causes of knife crime with more occurrences being recorded in cities. It seeks to find out its causative factors as well as the impacts it has on people particularly the youths. It is a criminal use of knife when an individual employed a knife to intimidate, attack or kill another person. It has been a huge issue in many areas of the United Kingdom including the busy areas such as London, Manchester, and Birmingham. Some of the communities that have been affected include the youth who are actively participating and this has caused severe injuries and some deaths. For achieving the objective of the present study, the following research question shall be answered: What are the reasons behind coupled with the fact that why knife crime is on the rise?
